Trick on my sister with a treat for trying

Hi Everyone,

Since this blog is just me talking I thought I would address the subject of halloween. I decided to play a little trick on my sister last year.

Costumes can be expensive But for fun last year I bought a $1.00 mask at the dollar store. I decided to put the mask on with a black sweatshirt,black gloves and black jeans. I used a pillow case for candy.

My sister lives right around the corner, so I walked to her house with my mask off of course then right before I knocked on the door I put my mask on and my hood up.

My nephew answered the door and I said “Trick or Treat.” He and his girlfriend were  all excited because it was their first tricker treater of the night. My sister came to the door to check it out. They didn’t recognize me . I wanted so badly to say It’s auntie but I didn’t. I thanked them and went on my way. After all you could mistake me for a kid when my face is covered. My body is short and my hands are small.

The next day I asked my sister if she had any tricker treater? She said” I got 1 trick or treater.”  I told her what I did and she laughed . This year don’t rent a costume create one. See it’s as easy as 123.

Halloween is fast approaching instead of renting one create one.

Did you ever wake up in the morning and wonder where the years have gone. I did this morning. when I signed into my work computer and there it was, a reminder,a screen saver of my 3 boys all dressed up for Halloween . My little Ninja, my cowardly cute lion and my tiny sweet baby  playing with a pumpkin bigger than him. Wow! what a reality check that was for me. As a mother you spend all your time caring for  your family, making sure everyone has everything they need, providing emotional support, cleaning the house, PTA meeting, parents open house ,ice cream socials ,book fairs, you get my drift.Then Bang !!! All of a sudden it’s all gone and it’s just you. Your kids are all grown up.

Reality has set in once again your children don’t need you like they use to. Now when you try to help them  the words that come out of their mouth is I’m 18 years old  I can take care of myself. Those little darling you invested your heart and soul in  can do it themselves.  It’s hard for a mom to hear but then you realize it’s a good thing to hear because it just means you raise a strong, independent, confident man.You realized  you lost yourself  and your dreams in

in the process of raising them.Well I say it’s time for me and you  to start finding ourselves again. I believe my boys will need mom once again  when they have their own children. Then the reality will begin again, it would be wonderful and those old days will be relived with  and through grandchildren.
